We believe that Mother Nature is always speaking. Farming our land isn’t ever a means to an end; It’s an ongoing conversation.
Our California-based non-GMO, California Certified Organic Farmers-certified organic farm is a testament to true sustainability in action. This isn’t simply our responsibility and passion. It’s also the best way to cultivate standout fruit.
As if jujubes weren’t magical enough (so tasty, so good for you), they are also naturally easy on the earth. They ask for so little in terms of resources, yet yield so much in return. Don’t you wish more things in life could be like our humble, hardworking jujube friends?
Located in the sunny Cuyama Valley, our jujubes are extremely drought resistant, sipping—rather than gulping—precious water. This zero-waste crop thrives in our sandy, loam soil, which is enhanced with our own compost deliberately cultivated to sequester carbon from the air and encourage the growth of good fungi and bacteria. We believe in working with—not against—the biodynamic web of life.
Pests? Jujubes have exactly zero in the great state of California. Naturally, we’d never use pesticides anywhere near our precious trees. In fact, our land is surrounded on all sides by the federally protected Los Padres National Forest, where the spraying of pesticides is strictly prohibited. Needless to say, this is where “fresh air” meets fresh jujubes.
How do we know we’re doing it right? Why, ask the wildlife! Here, wild bees buzz and birds thrive, as well as deer, mountain lions, and bears. If you ask us, that’s exactly the way it should be. When we look around and see the way these important ecosystems benefit from one another, we know that we’re not just growing great jujubes. We’re growing a stronger earth.
